On May 3, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, Paul Schulenberg, a well-known figurative painter from Cape Cod, will paint directly from a model in the midst of our exhibition, “Freedom of Expression.” He will not only create a work of art during those hours, but will also discuss his process and answer viewer’s questions at specific posted times.

Working from life, we will begin by painting still lifes and then move to interior landscapes.

The Ceramics and Painters Guilds of LACS join together in presenting “Freedom of Expression,” an exhibition highlighting the best works of artists of both guilds. Special for ArtWeek, Arthur Halvorsen will be giving a talk about his process and inspiration. His work evolves through creative repetition; making the same form over and over, tweaking it with sprinkles of spontaneity. Halvorsen says the best pleasure is in the creativity, not expecting the ordinary.
